The gross weight permitted on bridges in the District of Columbia shall be the maximum axle weight allowed in § 2505 or the gross weight posted on a particular bridge, whichever is less.
No vehicle which exceeds the maximum weight restriction set forth in § 2505, including the load being carried by the vehicle, shall cross any bridge in the District of Columbia without the written permission of the Director.
