Section 12-I404 - ELECTRICAL POWER LIGHTING SYSTEMS

Strike Sections R404.1 and R404.1.1 of the International Energy Conservation Code in their entirety and insert new Sections R404.1 and R404.1.1 in the Energy Conservation Code-Residential Provisions in their place to read as follows.

R404.1Lighting equipment (Mandatory).

Not less than 85 percent of the lamps in permanently installed lighting fixtures shall be high-efficacy lamps or not less than 85 percent of the permanently installed lighting fixtures shall contain only high-efficacy lamps. High efficacy lamps are either LED, compact fluorescent lamps (CFL's), T-8 or smaller diameter linear fluorescent lamps, or lamps with a minimum efficacy of:

1. 60 lumens per watt for lamps over 40 watts;
2. 50 lumens per watt for lamps over 15 watts to 40 watts; and
3. 40 lumens per watt for lamps 15 watts or less.
R404.1.1Lighting equipment (Mandatory).

Fuel gas lighting systems shall not have continuously burning pilot lights.

Strike Section R405 of the International Energy Conservation Code in its entirety and insert new Section R405 in the Energy Conservation Code-Residential Provisions in its place to read as follows.
