Part 5 - [Effective 10/15/2024] GENERAL HOSPITAL SERVICES5.1 Required General Hospital Services (A) If the licensed hospital unit provides general hospital services, 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 4, Parts 1-12, 14-17, 19, 21, and 24 shall apply, with the following additions or exceptions: (1) Part 5, Hospital Operations: Services may be provided through a contract with a qualified provider.(2) Part 6, Governance and Leadership: Where more than one unit is operated by a licensee, a single administrative officer may be delegated responsibility for all such units.(3) Part 10, Health information Management: (a) Services may be provided only by arrangement with the host hospital or a related licensed hospital.(b) The records required under 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 4, Part 10.11 shall be as applicable to the services offered by the unit.(4) Part 11, Infection Prevention and Control and Antibiotic Stewardship: Infection control services may be provided only by arrangement with the host hospital or a related licensed hospital.(5) Part 15, Pharmacy Services: services may be provided through a contract with qualified provider.(6) Part 16, Laboratory Services: clinical pathology services may be provided through a contract with a qualified provider.(7) Part 17, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Imaging Services: services may be provided through a contract with a qualified provider.(8) Part 19, Dietary Services: services may be provided through a contract with a qualified provider.(9) Part 21, Emergency Services: a hospital unit shall not be required to maintain a dedicated emergency department.(10) Part 24, Surgical and Recovery Services: surgical suite and recovery room services may be provided only by arrangement with the host facility or related licensed facility.5.2 Optional general hospital services(A) The standards contained in 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 4, Parts 13, 18, 20, 22-23, and 25-29 shall apply only if the licensed hospital unit provides such services. The following additions or exceptions also apply: (1) Part 13, General Patient Care Services: only required if the licensed hospital unit provides inpatient care.(2) Part 26, Respiratory Care Services: services may be provided through a contract with a qualified provider.(3) Part 27, Rehabilitation Services: services may be provided through a contract with a qualified provider.6 CCR 1011-1 Chapter 19, pt. 5
