Section 550-X-2-.02 - Minimum Requirement For Scholarships
(a) All full-time students in the medical schools of the State of Alabama, as well as members of the incoming freshman class of such schools, who are Alabama residents, shall be eligible for merit scholarships. No application shall be required.
(b) Prospective recipients must meet at least two of the following requirements:
(1) Maintain a 3.75 overall grade point average in undergraduate course work.
(2) Have scored a minimum of 30 on the MCAT exam, the first time taken.
(3) Have a 9 or better admissions committee rating.
(c) Records of eligible students shall be reviewed by the admissions officers of the respective schools. Fifteen students from UAB and six students from the University of South Alabama shall be selected by such admissions committees for interviews with the Board.
