Section 6-3-604 - Fraud against testamentary instruments and government records; penalties; "government record" defined(a) A person is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten (10) years, a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00), or both, if he fraudulently steals, alters, defaces, destroys or secretes: (i) An executed will, codicil or other testamentary instrument; or (ii) A part or all of a government record. (b) As used in this section, "government record" means a record, record book, docket or journal which is authorized by law or belongs or pertains to, or is filed with, a court of record, a circuit court or any governmental office or officer.
