(e) Immediately after the polls close, the referendum officers shall canvass the ballots. The results disclosed by the canvass shall be certified by the commission. (f) If a majority of the qualified electors voting in the referendum favor the formation of the district, the proposal to organize the proposed district shall carry and the commission shall proceed to make the determination required in W.S. 11-16-112. If the majority of the qualified electors voting in the referendum are against the organization of the district, the proposal to form the district shall fail and the commission shall deny the petition. The commission shall promptly make public the result of the referendum.
