Section 19-12E-4 - Industrial hemp authorized as agricultural crop; license required(a) Industrial hemp is considered an agricultural crop in this state if grown for the purposes authorized by the provisions of this article. Upon meeting the requirements of §19-12E-5 of this code, an individual in this state may plant, grow, harvest, possess, process, sell, or buy industrial hemp.(b) A person shall not cultivate, handle, or process industrial hemp in this state unless the person holds an industrial hemp license issued by this state.Amended by 2022 Acts, ch. 7 (SB 424), eff. 6/10/2022.Amended by 2019 Acts, ch. 13 (HB 2694), eff. 6/7/2019.
