Section 23A-5-303 - Importation or exportation and release of wildlife unlawful - Criminal penalty(1) A person may not:(a) import into or export from the state a species of live native or exotic wildlife; or(b) possess or release from captivity imported live wildlife described in Subsection (1)(a).(2) Notwithstanding Subsection (1), a person may engage in an act described in Subsection (1) if: (a) provided for in this title or the rules made by the Wildlife Board in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act; and(b) the person first secures written permission from the division.(3) A person who violates this section is subject to the penalty provided in Section 23A-5-301.Renumbered from § 23-13-5 and amended by Chapter 103, 2023 General Session ,§ 125, eff. 7/1/2023.Amended by Chapter 33, 1973 General Session
