Section 3845 - Contractor inventory accounting systems: standards
(a) The Secretary of Defense shall prescribe in regulations-
(1) standards for inventory accounting systems used by contractors under contract with the Department of Defense; and
(2) appropriate enforcement requirements with respect to such standards.
(b) The regulations prescribed pursuant to subsection (a) shall not apply to a contract that is for an amount not greater than the simplified acquisition threshold.
(c) The regulations prescribed pursuant to subsection (a) shall not apply to a contract for the purchase of commercial products.

REGULATIONS Pub. L. 100-456, div. A, title VIII, §834(b), Sept. 29, 1988, 102 Stat. 2025, provided that:"(1) The Secretary of Defense shall prescribe the regulations required by paragraph (1) of section 2410b of title 10, United States Code [now 10 U.S.C. 3845(a)(1)], as added by subsection (a), not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act [Sept. 29, 1988]."(2) The Secretary of Defense shall prescribe the regulations required by paragraph (2) of section 2410b of title 10, United States Code [now 10 U.S.C. 3845(a)(2)], as added by subsection (a), not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act."

Army National Guard
The term "Army National Guard" means that part of the organized militia of the several States and Territories, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia, active and inactive, that-(A) is a land force;(B) is trained, and has its officers appointed, under the sixteenth clause of section 8, article I, of the Constitution;(C) is organized, armed, and equipped wholly or partly at Federal expense; and(D) is federally recognized.
