Section 228.207 - Cesar Chavez Freeway
(a) In this section, "Cesar Chavez Freeway" means the portion of Loop 375 in El Paso County between Interstate Highway 10 and Santa Fe Street.
(b) If the Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority approves the conversion of the portion of the Cesar Chavez Freeway that is operated as a toll project to a nontolled project:
(1) any money advanced by the department to the authority for the construction or maintenance of a toll project on the Cesar Chavez Freeway that is unexpended on the effective date of the conversion shall be used for the construction of the Loop 375 Border Highway West Project in El Paso County from Race Track Drive to U.S. Highway 54 and added to the authority's obligation for that project under terms agreeable to the department; and
(2) the department shall maintain the Cesar Chavez Freeway as part of the state highway system without tolls.
