Section 131.103 - Students(a) The owner or operator of a street railway shall sell or provide for the sale of tickets for half of the regular fare collected for the transportation of adults to students younger than 18 years of age who attend academic, public, or private school in a grade not higher than the highest grade of the public high schools located in or adjacent to the municipality in which the railway is located.(b) Tickets under this section must be sold in lots of 20, with each ticket valid for one trip over the railway lines.(c) Tickets under this section are not required to be sold unless the student making the purchase presents the written certificate of the principal of the school the student attends stating that the student:(1) is younger than 18 years of age; and(2) is in regular attendance at a school in a grade that qualifies under Subsection (a).(d) Tickets under this section are not required to be sold and may not be used except during the months when a school qualifying under Subsection (a) is in session.(e) A student described by Subsection (a) shall be transported at half fare only when the student presents a ticket issued under this section.Tex.
