Section 1603.2101 - Individual Practitioner License or Student Permit Required; Use of Certain Terms Without License Prohibited(a) A person may not perform or offer or attempt to perform any act of barbering or cosmetology unless the person holds a license or permit issued under this subchapter to perform that act.(b) Unless the person holds an appropriate license issued under this subchapter, a person may not directly or indirectly use or cause to be used as a professional or business identification, title, name, representation, asset, or means of advantage or benefit:(1) the term "barber" or "barbering";(2) the term "cosmetologist" or "cosmetology"; or(3) any combination, variation, or abbreviation of the terms listed in Subdivisions (1) and (2).Tex.
