Section 962.051 - Qualifications for Certificate of Authority An insurer may not be issued a certificate of authority to operate under this chapter unless:
(1) it or a predecessor was writing the insurance coverages authorized by Section 962.101 on or before January 1, 1920, in at least one state; and(2) it had policyholders in this state on August 29, 1983, and provides proof of that fact to the department.Added by Acts 2005, 79th Leg., Ch. 727, Sec. 16, eff. 4/1/2007.
