Section 363.042 - Terms; Vacancies(a) Advisory council members serve for staggered six-year terms, with the terms of five members expiring August 31 of each odd-numbered year.(b) The commission shall fill a vacancy on the advisory council for the unexpired term by appointing a person who has the same qualifications as required under Section 363.041 for the person who previously held the vacated position.(c) A person who is appointed to a term on the advisory council or to fill a vacancy on the advisory council may continue to serve as a member only while the person continues to qualify for the category from which the person is appointed.Tex.
