Section 242.554 - Preliminary Review of Complaint; Inspection(a) On receipt of a complaint under this subchapter, the department shall make a preliminary review of the complaint.(b) Within a reasonable time after receipt of the complaint, the department shall make an on-site inspection or otherwise respond to the complaint unless the department determines that:(1) the person making the complaint made the complaint to harass the institution;(2) the complaint is without any reasonable basis; or(3) sufficient information in the possession of the department indicates that corrective action has been taken.(c) The department shall promptly notify the person making the complaint of the department's proposed course of action under Subsection (b) and the reasons for that action.Tex.
