(a) A bailiff acts in the name of his principal and may perform all official acts that the county sheriff may perform.(b) A bailiff shall attend each session of the court to which he is appointed and perform the official duties performed by sheriffs and deputies in the district courts of this state, including serving process, subpoenas, warrants, and writs. A bailiff shall also perform services requested by the judge.Tex. Gov't. Code § 53.035
