Section 25.1142 - Hopkins County Court At Law Provisions(a) In addition to the jurisdiction provided by Section 25.0003 and other law, a county court at law in Hopkins County has except as limited by Subsection (b), concurrent with the district court, the jurisdiction provided by the constitution and by general law for district courts.(b) A county court at law does not have jurisdiction of:(2) suits on behalf of the state to recover penalties or escheated property;(3) misdemeanors involving official misconduct; or(c) Repealed by Acts 2011, 82nd Leg., 1st C.S., Ch. 3, Sec. 4.50(a)(51), eff. January 1, 2012.(d) The judge of a county court at law shall be paid an annual salary that does not exceed 80 percent of the annual salary that is paid by the state to a district judge in the county. The salary shall be paid from the same fund and in the same manner as other county officials are paid.(e) Repealed by Acts 2011, 82nd Leg., 1st C.S., Ch. 3, Sec. 4.50(a)(51), eff. January 1, 2012.(f) The commissioners court may authorize the judge of a county court at law to set the official court reporter's salary.(g) Repealed by Acts 2011, 82nd Leg., 1st C.S., Ch. 3, Sec. 4.50(a)(51), eff. January 1, 2012.(h) The district clerk serves as clerk of a county court at law in matters of concurrent jurisdiction with the district court, and the county clerk serves as clerk of a county court at law in all other matters.
