Section 80.027 - Penalties(a) A person who violates this chapter or a rule adopted under this chapter or who alters, forges, counterfeits, or uses without authority a certificate, permit, or other document issued under this chapter or under a rule adopted under this chapter commits an offense.(b) An offense under this section is a Class C misdemeanor.(c) If the commissioner determines that a violation of this chapter or a rule adopted under this chapter has occurred, the commissioner may request that the attorney general or the county or district attorney of the county in which the alleged violation occurred or is occurring file suit for civil, injunctive, or other appropriate relief.Tex.
