Section 55-4-232 - Physician(a) An owner or lessee of a motor vehicle who is a resident of this state and who is licensed as a physician by the board of medical examiners under title 63, chapter 6, or by the board of osteopathic examination under title 63, chapter 9, upon complying with state motor vehicle laws relating to registration and licensing of motor vehicles, payment of the regular license fee for plates, as prescribed under § 55-4-111, and payment of the fee provided for in § 55-4-204, must be issued a distinctive registration plate as provided for in this section. (b) The registration plates must bear the legend "Physician". (c) For issuance of a license plate pursuant to this section, all applications must contain information that the commissioner requires proving the applicant is licensed as a physician by the board of medical examiners or the board of osteopathic examination pursuant to subsection (a).Added by 2022 Tenn.
