Section 39-17-407 - Criteria for Schedule IIThe commissioner of mental health and substance abuse services, upon the agreement of the commissioner of health, shall place a substance in Schedule II upon finding that:
(1) The substance has high potential for abuse;(2) The substance has currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States, or currently accepted medical use with severe restrictions; and(3) The abuse of the substance may lead to severe psychic or physical dependence.Acts 1989, ch. 591, § 1; 2010, ch. 1100, § 65; 2012, ch. 575, § 2.
