Section 49.28.080 - Hours of domestic employees-Exception-Penalty(1) No male or female household or domestic employee shall be employed by any person for a longer period than sixty hours in any one week. Employed time shall include minutes or hours when the employee has to remain subject to the call of the employer and when the employee is not free to follow his or her inclinations.(2) In cases of emergency such employee may be employed for a longer period than sixty hours.(3) Any employer violating this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.2003 c 53 § 275; 1937 c 129 § 1; RRS § 7651-1. Severability-1937 c 129: "In the event any part of this act is held invalid such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this act." [ 1937 c 129 s 3.] This applies to RCW 49.28.080 through 49.28.084.
