Section 923 - Office of secretary of land office abolished

From and after the first day of October next, the office of secretary of the land office shall cease, determine and be abolished, and all the duties heretofore done and performed by the secretary of the land office shall be done and performed by the surveyor general; and all the books, papers and records belonging to the office of the secretary of the land office shall, from and after the said first day of October next, be placed in the custody and possession of the surveyor general; and all certificates and other papers heretofore authenticated under existing laws by the seal of the office of the secretary of the land office shall, from and after the said first day of October next, be sealed with the seal of the office of the surveyor general: Provided, That the state treasurer shall constitute one of the board of property in the room of the secretary of the land office, which is hereby abolished: And provided further, That the salary of the surveyor general shall, from and after the tenth day of May next, be twelve hundred dollars, payable quarterly at the treasury.
