Section 485.2 - Legislative intent and purpose

It is hereby declared that the practice of veterinary medicine is a privilege which is granted by legislative authority in the interest of the public health, safety and welfare and to protect the public from being misled by incompetent, unscrupulous and unauthorized persons and from unprofessional or illegal practices by persons licensed to practice veterinary medicine. This act is enacted in the interest of society, health, safety and welfare of Pennsylvanians.
