Section 56408 - Compensation(a) A township that employs police officers shall pay to all the police officers a fixed or stipulated salary.(b) No police officer may charge or accept a fee or other compensation in addition to the salary paid by the township for a service rendered or performed by the police officer, except public rewards and the expenses incurred in the discharge of the police officer's duties.1931, June 24, P.L. 1206, art.
