Every person elected or appointed to any township office in any township shall, before entering upon the duties of office, take and subscribe an oath or affirmation of office under 53 Pa.C.S. § 1141 (relating to form of oaths of office), before any judge or magisterial district judge of the county or a notary public. A copy of the oath or affirmation shall, within ten days thereafter, be filed with the township secretary.
