Section 1462 - Office established(a) Office.--There is established within the Department of Labor and Industry an Office for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.(b) Director.--The Secretary of Labor and Industry, on recommendation of the Advisory Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing , shall appoint a qualified individual as the Director of the Office for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The director shall, in turn, appoint such other staff, with the approval of the Secretary of Labor and Industry, as necessary to carry out the functions of the office.1986, Dec. 16, P.L. 1621, No. 184, § 2, effective in 90 days.
