Section 981-10 - Penalties[(a)]Upon satisfactory evidence of a violation of this article by an insurer or other person, the commissioner may pursue any one or more of the following penalties: (1) Suspend, revoke or refuse to renew the license of the insurer or other person.(2) Enter a cease and desist order.(3) Impose a civil penalty of not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000).(4) Impose a civil penalty of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for a wilful violation of this article.(b) Penalties imposed on an insurer or other person under this article shall not exceed five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) in the aggregate during a single calendar year. 1921, May 17, P.L. 682, No. 284, § 1010-A, added 1997, Nov. 4, P.L. 492, No. 51, § 4, effective 1/1/1998.
