Section 413 - Qualifications of elected county officers(a) No person shall be elected to any county office, except the office of district attorney otherwise provided for by this act, unless the person shall be at least eighteen years of age, a citizen of the United States and a resident of the county, and shall have resided within the county for one year next preceding election.(b) In addition to the qualifications in subsection (a), a person shall not be eligible for the office of sheriff except in accordance with the act of February 9, 1984 ( P.L. 3, No.2), known as the Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff Education and Training Act.Amended by P.L.
