Section 16922 - Plan of system to be followed and variations(a)General rule.--The county commissioners may: (1) relocate, straighten, widen, extend, alter, open, construct and improve the proposed roads as laid out, surveyed, marked and shown upon the plans of the system;(2) originally locate, lay out, establish, construct and improve roads which substantially supply the system or parts of the system which, although not parts of the system, are deemed by the court to be main thoroughfares of sufficient importance to be improved by the county and added to the plan; and(3) vacate as much of the roads of the system and of roads already established as may be rendered unnecessary by the changes or by an entirely new location.(b) Limitation.--After plans have been adopted and recorded under applicable law, all applications under section 16921 (relating to improvement of municipal roads) shall be restricted and shall relate only to the establishing, opening, construction and improvement of the proposed roads of the system or parts of the system and the vacation of roads supplied by the portion opened and improved.Added by P.L.
