Section 5123.0419 - Interagency workgroup on autism(A) The director of developmental disabilities shall establish an interagency workgroup on autism. The purpose of the workgroup shall be to improve the coordination of the state's efforts to address the service needs of individuals with autism spectrum disorders and the families of those individuals. In fulfilling this purpose, the director may enter into interagency agreements with the government entities represented by the members of the workgroup. The agreements may specify any or all of the following: (1) The roles and responsibilities of government entities that enter into the agreements;(2) Procedures regarding the receipt, transfer, and expenditure of funds necessary to achieve the goals of the workgroup;(3) The projects to be undertaken and activities to be performed by the government entities that enter into the agreements.(B)(1) The entity contracted to administer programs and coordinate services for infants, preschool and school-age children, and adults with autism and low incidence disabilities under section 3323.32 of the Revised Code shall serve as the coordinating body of the workgroup.(2) The coordinating body of the workgroup shall ensure that the workgroup submits an annual report to the director of developmental disabilities by the thirty-first day of December of each year that includes recommendations for the workgroup's priorities and goals for the next year.(3) The department shall contract with the coordinating body on the implementation of the recommendations and other department initiatives for individuals with autism and other low incidence disabilities.(C) Money received from government entities represented by the members of the workgroup shall be deposited into the state treasury to the credit of the interagency workgroup on autism fund, which is hereby created in the state treasury. Money credited to the fund shall be used by the department of developmental disabilities solely to support the activities of the workgroup.(D) The workgroup shall hold at least two meetings per year that are open to the public for the purposes of reporting its work and hearing public feedback.Amended by 135th General Assembly, HB 33,§101.01, eff. 10/3/2023.Amended by 133rd General Assembly, HB 166,§101.01, eff. 10/17/2019.Added by 129th General Assembly, HB 153, §101.01, eff. 6/30/2011.
