Section 2108.263 - Cooperation in timely removal of partA coroner and procurement organization shall cooperate in the timely removal of a part from a decedent for the purpose of life-saving organ transplantation or therapy if an anatomical gift has been or might be made of the part and either of the following is the case:
(A) The decedent's body is under the jurisdiction of the coroner and a post-mortem examination or autopsy is not required.(B) The decedent has been referred to the coroner for post-mortem examination, it is determined that an autopsy is required, and after consultation with the prosecuting attorney, if a consultation is necessary, it is determined that the recovery of the part will not interfere with the autopsy.Effective Date: 2008 HB529 4/7/2009 .
