Section 14-12.2-37 - (603) Effect of registration for enforcement1. A support order or income-withholding order issued in another state or a foreign support order is registered when the order is filed in the registering tribunal of this state.2. A registered order issued in another state or foreign country is enforceable in the same manner and is subject to the same procedures as an order issued by a tribunal of this state.3. Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, a tribunal of this state shall recognize and enforce, but may not modify, a registered order if the issuing tribunal had jurisdiction.Effective date amended to 7/1/2015 by S.L. 2015, ch. 126 (HB 1111),§ 13, eff. 4/15/2015.Effective on the date the department of human services certifies to the legislative council that the Hague convention on the international recovery of child support and other forms of family maintenance is ratified and that the United States deposited its instrument of ratification.
