Section 53:5A-5.1 - Transfer to State Police Retirement System of New Jersey

The membership in the Police and Firemen's Retirement System of New Jersey, established pursuant to P.L. 1944, c.255 (C.43:16A-1 et seq.), or the Public Employees' Retirement System of New Jersey, established pursuant to P.L. 1954, c.84 (C.43:15A-1 et seq.), of inspectors in the Alcoholic Beverage Control Enforcement Bureau, members of the State Capitol Police Force, or marine law enforcement officers in the Bureau of Marine Law Enforcement who, pursuant to section 1 of P.L. 1997, c. 19(C.53:1-8.2), become members of the State Police, shall be transferred to the State Police Retirement System of New Jersey, established pursuant to P.L. 1965, c.89 (C.53:5A-1 et seq.). Deductions from such persons' salaries and contributions on their behalf shall thereafter be made as required by that retirement system. The rate of contribution of the transferred inspectors, members, and officers shall be determined by the rates payable by other members of that system.
