Section 5:12-95.28 - Tampering affecting odds, payout, third degree crime; finesa. Any person who knowingly offers or allows to be offered any Internet game that has been tampered with in a way that affects the odds or the payout of a game or disables the game from operating according to the rules of the game as promulgated by the division is guilty of a crime of the third degree and notwithstanding the provisions of N.J.S. 2C:43-3, shall be subject to a fine of not more than $50,000 and in the case of a person other than a natural person, to a fine of not more than $200,000 and any other appropriate disposition authorized by subsection b. of N.J.S. 2C:43-2.b. In addition to the penalties provided in subsection a., an employee of the casino licensee who knowingly violates this section shall have his or her license suspended for a period of not less than 30 days.c. In addition to the penalties provided in subsection a., a casino licensee that violates this section shall have its permit to conduct Internet gaming suspended for a period of not less than 30 days.Added by L. 2013, c. 27,s. 26, eff. 2/26/2013.
