Section 45:9-37.67 - Issuance of temporary license

Upon payment to the director of a fee and the submission of a written application on forms provided by the director, the director shall issue a temporary license to a person who has applied for licensure pursuant to this act and who, in the judgment of the director, in consultation with the council, is eligible for licensure pursuant to section 11 or section 12 of this act. A temporary license shall be available to an applicant with his initial application for examination and he may practice only under the direct supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. A temporary license shall expire automatically upon the holder being notified of failure of the licensure examination. The temporary license may be renewed for an additional period until the results of the next licensure examination at which time it shall automatically expire and be surrendered to the director.
