Section 26:2H-18.42 - Hospital not claiming deduction for bad debt eligible for reimbursement for charity care

Notwithstanding the provisions of section 6 of P.L. 1991, c.187 (C.26:2H-18.29) to the contrary, a hospital that does not claim any deduction for bad debt for the purpose of the department's determination of that hospital's uncompensated care factor pursuant to N.J.A.C.8:31B-4.39, is eligible for full reimbursement for charity care, as provided pursuant to N.J.A.C.8:31B-4.37, for all eligible patients regardless of a patient's state of residence; except that this section shall not apply in the case of a patient who is not a resident of the United States.
