Section 19:44A-11.6 - Loans for contributions; limitations

Any person, partnership, association, political committee or continuing political committee may make a loan or loans to any person, partnership, association, political committee or continuing political committee with knowledge or reason to know that the prospective recipient of the loan intends to use the proceeds thereof to make a contribution in aid of any candidate or the candidate committee or joint candidates committee of any candidate, provided that, at any time, the aggregate total of the unrepaid portion of all such loans by that lender shall not exceed an amount equal to twice the maximum amount of contributions in the aggregate which, under subsection a. of section 18 of P.L. 1993, c.65 (C.19:44A-11.3), the lender is permitted to make to such a candidate. The provisions of this subsection shall not apply to any bank, savings bank, savings and loan association or credit union, whether chartered by the United States, this State, or any other state or territory of the United States, or by a foreign country.
