Section 482:24 - Petition for Order; Two TownsI.When in the opinion of the owner of any part or share of a mill, milldam or flume it is necessary that it be rebuilt or repaired, and the other part owners neglect to rebuild or repair the same, he may apply, by petition in writing, to the selectmen of the town in which it is situated for an order to rebuild or repair. The petition shall contain a description of the premises, the names and shares of all persons interested in the structure who are known, the purpose of the application, including the scope of the proposed project, and a request for a hearing.II.If such mill, milldam or flume is situated in 2 or more towns the petitions shall be to the selectmen of all the towns, and like proceedings shall be had before them as a joint board. 1989, 339:1, eff.
