Section 38:1 - Definitions In this chapter:
I. "Commission" means the public utilities commission, unless the context otherwise indicates.II. "Utility" means any public utility engaged in the manufacture, generation, distribution, or sale of electricity, gas, or water in the state.III. "Municipality" means any city, town, unincorporated town, unorganized place, or village district within the state.IV. "Municipal water company" means any water distribution system or water supply utility, owned or operated by a municipality, whether as a municipal department, separate company, or otherwise.V. "Regional water district" means any regional water district formed pursuant to RSA 53-A, for the purpose of providing and assuring the provision of an adequate and sustainable supply of clean water.1997, 206:1, eff.
