Section 205:4-b - Early Acquisition and Disposition of Real Property

An authority may, with the approval of the governing body (or agency designated by it or empowered by law so to act) of the municipality in which the real property lies, and prior to the approval of a redevelopment plan for a redevelopment project including such real property, (1) acquire any real property constituting the whole or any part or parts of any area which it has determined to be an area necessary for its purposes under this chapter, as amended, and for which it is preparing a redevelopment plan for a redevelopment project and clear the areas so acquired, and (2) dispose of said real property at any time after acquisition in the manner provided in RSA 205:5 and subject to the provisions of any redevelopment plan which may later be approved for the area of any redevelopment project including such real property. For the acquisition and disposition of any such real property an authority shall have all the rights, powers, privileges and immunities that are granted to the authority in this chapter with respect to any real property included in a redevelopment project for which a redevelopment plan has been approved as provided in RSA 205:4.
