Section 640.150 - Renewal; expiration and reinstatement of license; continuing competency; regulations; fees1. A license to practice as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant expires 1 year after the date of its issuance or on the date prescribed by the Board, whichever is later. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2, a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant may renew a license before its expiration upon:(a) Presentation of proof of completion of a program of continuing competency as required by subsection 3;(b) Payment of a renewal fee established by the Board; and(c) Submission of all information required to complete the renewal.2. A license may be renewed within 30 days after the date it expires. An expired license that is not renewed in a timely manner may be reinstated, at the discretion of the Board, upon: (a) Payment of the reinstatement fee established by regulation of the Board for each year or portion thereof that the license is expired; and(b) Satisfaction of the requirements for renewal prescribed by subsection 1.3. The Board shall require licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants to complete a program of continuing competency as a requirement for the renewal of licenses. The Board shall, by regulation, establish requirements for the program of continuing competency, which may include a requirement that any provider of such a program must be approved by the Board.4.
