Section 482C.295 - Licensure of program required; application; evidence of insurance; fee; expiration and renewal of license
1. A peer-to-peer car sharing program shall not engage in business in this State unless the person who operates the peer-to-peer car sharing program holds a valid license issued by the Department pursuant to this chapter.
2. A person who desires to operate a peer-to-peer car sharing program in this State must:
(a) Submit to the Department an application for the issuance of a license to operate a peer-to-peer car sharing program in such form and including such information and documentation as the Director may require by regulation.
(b) Provide evidence of insurance coverage to satisfy any liability that accrues to a peer-to-peer car sharing program for damage that arises from the failure of the peer-to-peer car sharing program to comply with the provisions of this chapter in an amount established by the Director by regulation, which is separate from any insurance coverage a peer-to-peer car sharing program may use to satisfy the liability which may accrue to a peer-to-peer car sharing program pursuant to NRS 482C.255 or which may be used to satisfy the requirements of subsection 4 of NRS 482C.255, or file a bond or make a deposit pursuant to NRS 482C.320.
(c) Pay a fee of $125.
3. Licenses issued pursuant to subsection 2 expire on December 31 of each year. Before December 31 of each year, licensees shall submit to the Department an application for renewal of the license in such form and including such information and documentation as the Director may require by regulation accompanied by an annual renewal fee of $50.
