Section 37-6-301 - License required for practice

Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, it is unlawful for a person to profess to be a podiatrist, to practice or assume the duties incident to podiatry, or to advertise in any form or hold out to the public that the person is a podiatrist or in a sign or advertisement to use the word "podiatrist" or "foot correctionist" or any other term, terms, or letters indicating to the public that the person is holding out to the public that the person is a podiatrist or foot correctionist in any manner without first obtaining from the board a license authorizing the practice of podiatry in this state.
