Section 208.244 - Waiver of SNAP work requirements, inapplicable, when - savings used for child care assistance - annual report1.** Beginning January 1, 2016, the waiver of the work requirement for the supplemental nutrition assistance program under 7 U.S.C. Section 2015(o) shall no longer apply to individuals seeking benefits in this state. The provisions of this subsection shall terminate on January 1, 2019.2. Any ongoing savings resulting from a reduction in state expenditures due to modification of the supplemental nutrition assistance program under this section or the temporary assistance for needy families program under sections 208.026 and 208.040 effective on August 28, 2015, subject to appropriations, shall be used to provide child care assistance for single parent households, education assistance, transportation assistance, and job training for individuals receiving benefits under such programs as allowable under applicable state and federal law.3. The department shall make an annual report to the joint committee on government accountability on the progress of implementation of sections 208.026 and 208.040, including information on enrollment, demographics, work participation, and changes to specific policies. The joint committee shall meet at least once a year to review the department's report and shall make recommendations to the president pro tempore of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives.
