Section 30.050 - Governor to examine bond - may require new bond

It shall be the duty of the governor, at least once in every six months, to examine the official bond of the state treasurer as to its solvency, and if the solvency of such bond has become impaired from any cause, he shall require such treasurer to give a new bond, or such additional security as may be deemed necessary to make the said bond good and sufficient for the security of the trusts reposed in such treasurer; and if such treasurer fail or refuse to give such new bond or furnish such additional security within thirty days after he shall be so required, his office shall thereby become forfeited, and the governor shall take charge of the same, as in section 30.030 provided in case of failure of the treasurer to give bond within the time in said section specified.
