Section 168.092 - 60-DAY TEMPORARY VEHICLE PERMIT
Subdivision 1.Resident buyer.

The commissioner may issue a permit to a person purchasing a new or used motor vehicle in this state for the purpose of allowing the purchaser a reasonable time to register the vehicle and pay fees and taxes due on the transfer. The permit is valid for a period of 60 days. The permit must be in a format prescribed by the commissioner, affixed to the rear of the vehicle where a license plate would normally be affixed, and plainly visible. Each permit is valid only for the vehicle for which issued.

Subd. 2.Dealer.

The commissioner may issue permits to licensed dealers. When issuing a permit, the dealer must complete the permit in the manner prescribed by the department.
