Section 145A.135 - LOCAL AND TRIBAL PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE GRANT PROGRAM
Subdivision 1.Establishment.

The commissioner of health must establish a local and Tribal public health emergency preparedness and response grant program.

Subd. 2.Funding formula; use.
(a) The commissioner must distribute funding for emergency preparedness and response activities to community health boards and Tribal public health departments based on a formula determined by the commissioner, in consultation with the State Community Health Services Advisory Committee.
(b) Grant proceeds must align with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's issued report: Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Capabilities: National Standards for State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Public Health.
Subd. 3.Reporting.
(a) Each grantee must submit a report to the commissioner, in a manner and on a timeline specified by the commissioner, on how the grant funds were spent and the purposes for which they were spent.
(b) By January 15 of each year, the commissioner must submit a report to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction over health policy and finance. The report must include information on how the grant funds were distributed and used at the local and Tribal level.
