Section 801.312 - Definitions; inmate housing expense(1) As used in this act: (a) "Municipal jail" means a jail or lockup operated by a city, village, or township.(b) "Municipality" means any city, village, or township.(2) This act, consistent with section 4a of 1846 RS 171, MCL 801.4a, does not create any responsibility for a municipality in a district court district of the first or second class to incur the expense of housing an inmate in the county jail for an ordinance violation.Amended by 2012, Act 136,s 1, eff. 5/16/2012.Added by 2006, Act 88, s 2, eff. 4/3/2006.
