Section 780.156 - Powers of governorThe governor of this state may:
(a) Demand of the governor of another state the surrender of a person found in that state who is charged in this state with the crime of failing to provide for the support of any person.(b) Surrender on demand by the governor of another state a person found in this state who is charged in that state with the crime of failing to provide for the support of any person. Provisions for extradition of criminals not inconsistent with this act apply to the demand even if the person whose surrender is demanded was not in the demanding state at the time of the commission of the crime and has not fled from the demanding state. The demand, the oath, and any proceedings for extradition pursuant to this section need not state nor show that the person whose surrender is demanded has fled from justice or, at the time of the commission of the crime, was in the demanding state.1952, Act 8, Eff. 9/18/1952 ;--Am. 1985, Act 172, Eff. 3/1/1986.
