Section 774.12 - Summoning jury of 6 persons; methodAfter joining the issues, and before the municipal court proceeds to try the case, if the accused has not waived his or her right to a trial by jury, the court shall summon a jury of 6 persons as follows:
(a) If a statute specifies the method of summoning jurors for the municipal court, the court shall comply with the statute.(b) If another statute does not specify a method of summoning jurors, the court shall comply with sections 13 to 21 of this chapter and shall direct the chief of police or a police officer of the city to make a list in writing of the names of 18 inhabitants of the city, qualified to serve as jurors in the circuit court. From this list the prosecuting attorney and the accused may each strike out 6 names.
